Mad River Clothing designed and manufactured a custom
organic T-shirt for Friends of the Earth (FOE) Canada. All garments are
Eco-Friendly (use environmentally responsible textile alternatives). Mad River
Clothing, formerly based in West Creemore, Ontario addressed specific problems
in the garment industry by seeking out environmental alternatives to harmful
fabrication and production methods - generally organic cotton.
Did you know? Conventionally grown cotton uses 26% of the world's pesticides
but represents only 3% of the world's cultivated crops. FOE works to support the
transition away from pesticides to organic production. Friends of the Earth's
Real Food Campaign calls for mandatory labelling of genetically modified foods
and consumer and government support for organic food producers.
The image on the T-shirt has been painted by Gary Eden, a Guelph area artist
with a keen talent and environmental sensibility. His image stands to represent
the wonder of such an incredibly delicate system and astonishment at what has
been done to our planet.
FOE Earth Logo T-shirt is available in both adult and children's sizes (view
size charts) in a natural organic colour with full colour logo. Proceeds from
the sale of the t-shirts goes to support Friends of the Earth's campaign work.

Consider this...Coffee is currently the third most
intensively pesticide sprayed crop in the world and the second leading cause of
rainforest destruction. It is threatening songbird habitats, wiping out
biodiversity, contaminating drinking water and locking farmers in a cycle of
hopeless poverty.
Friends of the Earth (FOE) has joined with Beans
etc. to make your coffee not only fresh but environmentally and
socially friendly. Our partnership supports climate friendly technologies (clean
water mills and solar-powered coffee dryers) and promotes rainforest protection.
Coffee sourced by Beans etc. from Coope Montes de Oro in
Costa Rica has earned the Government of Canada's Enviromental Choice Ecologo for
sustainability: organic, biodiverse, solar dried and fairly traded.
It is now deliciously easy to support FOE initiatives. Enjoy the finest
arabica coffee in the world, produced in harmony with people and the planet… for
pennies a cup. A portion of your purchase will go to help FOE continue fighting
for your right to clean air, clean water and 'real' food.
