Friends of the Earth Canada and its international network has joined singer/songwriter RAFFI in releasing his new single, ‘SustainABILITY’, in celebration of Earth Day April 22, 2009. The song is available as a free download from FOE's website.
"I have long been an advocate for sustainability," says Raffi Cavoukian, Canadian singer, author and founder of Child Honouring. "That's why I asked Friends of the Earth to join in releasing my new song, ‘SustainABILITY,’ in celebration of Earth Day 2009.”
“Friends of the Earth's mission to heal communities and restore the earth aligns with my own commitment to advance Child Honouring as the children-first way of sustainability. Sustainability is more than an idea—it’s a code of conduct.”
The advance single ‘SustainABILITY’, from Raffi’s upcoming CD, Communion, is a key part of the Child Honouring vision that Raffi has developed in recent years.
In his three decades as an ecology advocate, Raffi’s many honours include the UNEP Earth Achievement Award, the Global 500 Award, the Earth Stewardship Award and the Order of Canada.
"I hope this song resonates in every classroom and corporate board room across Canada on Earth Day," says Beatrice Olivastri, CEO, Friends of the Earth, "Healing the planet, building Sustainability needs everybody to join in and nothing can engage people better than Raffi's music."
Friends of the Earth will be keen to hear from friends and colleagues about how and where they play "SustainABILITY". Send us an email at foe@foecanada.org
